I once stumbled on an article on Forbes magazine touting Rwanda as the goldmine of Africa. The title of the piece looked like an exaggeration but reading through, I discovered it was just as it said. This country has come out of an era of war, genocide and one of the darkest moments in African history to become a shining beacon of hope to the continent. However, unlike the forbes article, this one stretches the good, the bad and the in between. One can say president Kagame has done a good job of transforming a near dysfunctional society to an almost utopian one, but can we turn an eye to human rights abuses for the greater good? That's one question that i find disturbing.
