  • A recent correction from the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) revealed that internet prices in Africa actually dropped last year, but they still remain unaffordable for many, costing an average of 8% of monthly income.
  • Despite this slight decrease, the high costs and frequent internet shutdowns, especially in authoritarian countries, continue to hinder access and widen the digital divide on the continent.
