- The South African government plans to create the largest tech hub in Africa, including a coding academy and spaces for youth and start-ups, to boost the country's position in the digital economy.
- This initiative aims to harness the potential of technology to improve lives and support small businesses, while also preparing for the future of work in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
SA has always been at the top when it comes to technology in Africa. I once heard they are aiming for the moon with rocket projects.
Being a software developer myself, I can fully attest to the fact that, technology is the new way to wealth. It is a great news to wake up to, especially for the SA youths and startups in particular.
I hope the meeting held by the minister of small business development: Lindiwe Zulu and Stella Ndabeni Abraham's who is the minister of communications yield a great reward. That way, academies for coding and programming as well as co-working and co-creation spaces for the youth and start ups will be available and this development will in turn improve the country to a greater height.
See Rwanda, their penchant for technology has given them a new name. Some weeks ago they launched the first ever medical drone, so if countries like SA, Nigeria n etc can follow suit, then Africa will be a greater place soon..
