- Content moderators from companies like Facebook, TikTok, and ChatGPT in Nairobi formed the first African Content Moderators Union to improve their working conditions and wages, which are some of the lowest in the tech industry.
- The union was established after a long process that included legal action against companies like Meta and organizing efforts by moderators, with the goal of advocating for fair treatment and better support for workers in the content moderation industry.
