- Cameroonian Arthur Zang, aged 28, won a £25,000 prize for creating a heart-monitoring tablet called Cardio Pad, which can help heart patients in remote areas access healthcare without traveling to cities with heart specialists.
- The tablet has electrodes that monitor the heart's activity, and the data is sent wirelessly to a cardiologist who can provide feedback within 20 minutes, potentially benefiting many people in Sub-Saharan Africa with heart conditions.
