  • In 2012, Nigeria faced devastating floods that displaced two million people and led to significant government funding for relief, but a civil society group, BudgIT, found that much of the aid did not reach those in need due to corruption.
  • In response, various initiatives like Tracka and Follow the Money have emerged to promote transparency and accountability in public spending, helping communities track projects and demand better governance.
